Mary Scarf

Do you know when you look for a piece of yarn so beautiful that you don’t know how are you going to leave the store without it? Well, it was like this that begun this love story.

Mary is my best friend for the cold days and its super cozy (you can never say that you have too many friends like this one).

For this project I used two multi colored yarns, one multi ecru and brown and the other in variations of pink and violet, both are medium size.

The scarf is made in front and back post double crochet. This is a simple and interesting project, easy and fast to make, and it’s perfect for beginners.

Chain (CH) 46 with 63 colour

Row 1: In the 4th chain from hook work DC (YO, insert the hook, pull up a loop, YO, pull up to two, YO, pull up the remaining two) in the remaining stitches from chain. CH 2 and turn.

Row 2: The 2 chains from last row count as the first stitch. In the next stitch (ST) work a front post double crochet (FTDC). A FTDC means that you insert your hook from front to back around the stitch and make DC. Around next ST you work a back post double crochet (BKDC). A BKDC is when you insert your hook from back to front around the stitch and make DC. Keep switching between FTDC and BKDC until the end of the row, at the end CH 2 and turn.

Row 3: The 2 chains from last row count as the first stitch. Around next ST work BKDC and, in the next one, FTDC. Keep switching until the end of the row, CH 2 and turn.

Rows 4 – 31: REP rows 2 and 3.

Row 32: REP row 2. In the last BKDC, before you make the last chains you must insert the new colour. So, in the last DC you YO, insert the hook, pull up a loop, YO, pull up to two, YO from the new colour, pull up to the last two loops in the hook. CH 2 and turn.
